Use of Testosterone for 'Male Menopause' Questionable

Recently, some people have advocated the use of synthetic testosterone to combat the effects of aging in men.  Unlike women going through true menopause, though, men lose testosterone slowly and gradually. Moreover, this loss is a perfectly natural process, and there do not appear to be negative effects.  Testosterone does benefit muscle strength and bone density, but those benefits are offset by risks such as blockage of the urinary tract.  Overall, researchers are skeptical that artificial testosterone is beneficial in aging men.
