Greater Purpose in Life May Protect Against Harmful Changes in the Brain Associated With Alzheimer’s Disease

People who show  ‘greater purpose’ in life may be protected from the Alzheimer’s disease.  This study suggests that purpose in life helps with the prevention against harmful effects of the tangles and plaque on memory.  It may also help with other thinking abilities.   The study was done by the scientists asking subjects different questions about their purpose in life.  The research starting in 1997 and will continue on for a few more years.
