Lorcaserin is the second FDA endorsed diet pill this year. This drug was turned down in 2010 because it could have major heart valve problems. This is it's second running for approval by the FDA. In it's second round these risks are supposedly only minor now instead of major. The FDA has suggested that it would be more good than bad for this diet pill to be approved. Since the predicted rate for obesity is rising, scientists and health professionals are desperately trying to find a solution.
