Doctors in San Fransisco are working on a new pill to help the immunity against HIV in healthy people. The drug has been already used for those infected with AIDS (active HIV) which is why it would be easier to pass from the FDA. This drug provides a silver lining to the battle against AIDS and this off-label use would be radical but seems to be effective. The issue with the drug is its costs. The article gives an estimate to treat a person with AIDS is about $600,000 for their lifetime. Therefore there must be a better alternative and this could be that alternative.
