Weakness Can Be an Advantage in Surviving Deadly Parasites, a New Study Shows

A freshwater zooplankton species frequently becomes infected with a parasite which forces it to adapt and evolve resistance. The plankton have been shown to become more susceptible to the invaders in lakes with fewer resources and higher predation, but evolved toward increased resistance in lakes with increased resources and lower predation.
