Recent politicians have been calling out for an increase in the proximity of grocery stores to low income families, citing that grocery stores are too far away from them, resulting in fast food being the only source of food. This is apparently not the case. Studies find that low income areas have just as many or more grocery stores than high income areas. This flaws the previous link to obesity and grocery store proximity.
