Treating Sleep Apnea without the Mask

 

Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder which is due to the abnormal pauses in breathing and low breathing during sleep. It causes repeated awakenings during the night and resulting in loud snoring and gasps for air. One solution is by wearing a mask at night which pushes air into the nasal passages, enabling easier breathing. However, the mask is big, bulky, and obtrusive. One new alternative is a patch that fits over the nostrils, which is called Provent.
