World's smallest frogs discovered in New Guinea

A new species of frog has been uncovered in southeastern New Guinea.  The frogs, belonging to the genus "Paedophryne" have been declared the smallest in the world, measuring only 8-9 mm in length, which is just under half the diameter of a penny.  This miniaturization is not uncommon for New Guinea frogs.  Their small stature makes things like climbing and carrying eggs particularly difficult.
