Yawning with Loved Ones

Scientists discovered that yawning seems to be more contagious when the people yawning are closer together. In other words, family and friends are more likely to all yawn together than strangers. The researchers explain that "some of the brain areas activated during yawn perception overlap with the areas involved in the emotional processing," so a certain amount of emotion or empathy might be involved when people yawn.
