What Is Amnesia? What Causes Amnesia?

Amnesia basically is a forgetting a past memory or lose of ability to memorize. Amnesia can be as harmful as a brain disease such as Alzheimer's. There are also various types of amnesia. For example, there are retrograde, traumatic, posthypnotic amnesia, and blackout phenomenon. The degree of loss of memory differs per a symptom as well. The causes for the psychogenic amnesia are usually due to abuse. Finally, there are some treatments for amnesia illustrated in this medical news.
