Botox in head "trigger points" is show to reduce migrain crises


Scientists at the University of Granada have confirmed that injecting a local anesthetic or botulinum toxin (botox) into certain points named "trigger points" of the pericraneal and neck muscles reduce migraine frequency among migraine sufferers. It is an effective treatment, reducing migraine frequency and intensity in most of the subjects, but is not recommended as a first choice treatment due to its expense and extreme time commitment.
