Scientists advise women stay cool for baby's sake
Scientists at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) have found a link between increases in temperature and the incidence of stillbirth and shorter pregnancies. The scientists found that still births almost doubled when the temperature increased from 15°C to 23°C and that gestation periods are shorter at higher temps. causing more preterm babies and long term health problems. The lowest risks occurred during the cooler weeks. Places with extreme heat, like hot tubs or jacuzzis should be avoided.
