Mosquitoes Habits of Keeping Cool

As much as Minnesotans hate mosquitoes, the procedure of keeping their body cool as they take blood from humans is a fascinating idea. Researchers could not figure out why, when mosquitoes draw blood from humans for nutrients, they excrete a drop or two onto the humans skin. Blood is a very valuable necessity for mosquitoes. They figured out that in order to keep from overheating, mosquitoes excrete a drop of blood in order to cool themselves. When the blood drops onto the skin, it evaporates, leaving a cool sensation. This mechanism is very valuable in the life of an annoying pest.
