Scientists have just created a neon sign using living bacteria. That is the greenest decision a bar could possibly make. It may seem trite, but the researchers are finding new ways to engineer living cells like machines. This article is intriguing because of the implications of the future. When will engineering living things go too far? I don't think the bacteria mind right now, but they might get sick of flashing everytime a little kid presses a button.
