Rebuilding the Brain's Circuitry

After scientists successfully transplanted neurons into mice with brain disorders they received better than expected results. The mice had a brain disorder that affected the release of the hormone leptin. Instead of the rats following the the status-quo of becoming morbidly obese they stayed skinny, suggesting the mammalian brain has greater restorative abilities than thought possible.
