Being obese is a health risk no matter what, but new studies find that being obese while battling breast cancer, can have worse outcomes than someone who is a healthy weight. There is one exception though with endocrine therapy. In this treatment being obesity had a protective effect. However, in most instances, there is a trend of worse survival outcomes. This may be due to biological factors such as high blood insulin levels. However, more research is needed to truly understand the affects of obesity has on cancer.
