Studies have shown that heavy energy, tea, and coffee drinkers are more likely to hallucinate, hear imaginary voices, and even sense the presence of deceased people. It has been known that high levels of caffeine produce paranoia and sensory disturbances in some people. Although the affects of caffeine have been studied very intensely using 220 test subjects for this study, these hallucinations could be merely responses to anxiety and stress. People with these worries, however, typically drink caffeine so the correlation is hard to predict.
