Cells Responsible For Wakefulness Found

In this article, they talk about hypocretin cells and their role in human wakefulness. Up until recently, it was not known what exactly in the brain was responsible for wakefulness. Narcolepsy, for example, and other diseases that cause drowsiness was unknown. Recent new studies on rodents have pointed out the answer to such questions, leading to possible break-through medications.
