In Seattle the officials have banned plastic bags that can only be used once. This will take effect in 2012 and it includes a provision that will cost people a nickel per paper bag. All of this is being done to help the amount of waste, and encourage people to bring their own bags when they go shopping. This is expected to reduce pollution and waste in landfills.
