Many scientists including astrophysicist, Stephen Hawkins, believe that the only way for the ultimate survival of humanity is the colonization of other planets such as Mars. British scientists have sent 4,000 worms known as Caenorhabditis elegans on board to their Space Shuttle Discovery to test this out. Study have shown that these worms have developed from an egg to adulthood and produced offspring. These worms can be used to help us figure out the toxins in the atmosphere and how well they can live with it and other information necessary for the ultimate human survival in these extraterrestrial places.
