Hiding Bacteria

Researchers may have discovered why some bacteria can be hard to trace.  Two studies have show that E. Coli can turn off almost all signs of life.  This can pose a lot of problem, especially in food-safety.  Many bacteria have shown the ability to do this but only in labs.  It is not sure how what bacteria can accomplish this in natural environments.
