Hairs on Spider's Body Function as Individual Ears

     Results in a new experiment suggest that the tiny hairs covering this spider's body are capable of responding to a whole spectrum of sound, acting individually as ears! They were previously thought to just be able to detect faint movements, like an enemy approaching. In the experiment, the hairs responded best to sounds between 40Hz and 600Hz.
