First Cloned Stem Cells
Human embryonic stem cells have been created recently from a process
similar to cloning. THese stem cells can be used for treating
Parkinson's disease and other similar diseases. The nice thing about the
stem cells is that they are made from cloned embryos matched with the
patients so they are not rejected. The stem cells still need a lot of
work done on them after they're created and before they can be used for
therapies. The difficulty that this cloning has shown indicated that
full human cloning will not be possible for a long time to come.
