Embryonic Turtles Communicate to Coordinate Hatching

Turtles lay their eggs in the sand, and when they hatch, their mother protects them as they make their way to the ocean. It's therefore important to all hatch at once, so the mother doesn't leave anyone behind. A new study shows that a certain type of turtle has the ability to communicate with its siblings in nearby eggs to coordinate when to hatch.
