A new 3D printer has helped surgeons create new bone-like materials that support human bone growth. This has been proven already with humans, rats, and rabbits. It took 4 years to figure out the right chemistry for this to be possible as well as 1.5 million dollars funded by the National Institutes of Health. With further and better 3D printers, it can help surgeons perform dental work, bone repair surgery, and deliver medicine for osteoporosis.
