Unlabeled Animal Feed with Genetically Modified Ingredients on Sale in Bulgaria

In Bulgaria, a Varna-based laboratory found that five types of feed for animals containing soybean meal produced in the country contain over five percent of genetically modified organisms. The European Union laws specifically state that special labels must be placed on packaging if anything above nine-tenths of a percent of the mixture is genetically modified. Somehow this feed is getting by without having any labeling. Now heftier sanctions are being demanded to be put in place.
