Sewage Treatment Plants May Contribute to Antibiotic Resistance Problem

Waste goes into municipal sewage treatment plants where they treat the water and then it gets released back into lakes and rivers.  There is a new finding that the water that is being released back into nature is not healthy. It may contain concentrations of genes that create bacteria. These bacteria are antibiotic resistant. This is a major problem today. The plants are set up to treat these bacteria, but instead of killing the bacteria, it is making them super bacteria.
