The FDA recently created new guidelines for testing artificial pancreas. The new guidelines are designed to give reasearchers more flexibility which will allow products get to patients sooner. The new guidelines are to move clinical trials of an artificial pancreas to outpatients to see how they function. The artificial pancreas would be used in the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
