Planned Home Births and Safety

A recent major British study found that for women who had never given birth before,  having a home birth increased their odds of having complications. The article also talks about the difference between giving birth in a hospital, with a midwife, and just at home without a midwife. We talked about the birthing process in class, and this is an interesting example of how even though we know exactly what happens when a woman gives birth, there are still scientific studies being conducted to understand the process further.
