In light of our recent study of the kidney, this article explains how pet and human kidneys are similar. When evaluating kidney injuries, doctors look at the creatinine produced to look at the severity of the injury. Creatinine is filtered by the kidneys, and by monitoring the levels of the hormone in the blood, doctors can often learn of the damage better. If there is more creatinine, the injury must be there. This article is relevant because of our study of hormones and the kidney.
