Scientists at CERN are expected to report Tuesday seeing hints of the long-sought Higgs boson, which is the so-called 'God particle' linked to a mechanism that gives other subatomic particles their mass. Physicists have been working at this for the past century, trying to find this last particle in their "Standard model", which is built up of fundamental particles. If this is discovered and proven to be true, the Big Bang could be highly plausible.
