Heavy Rainfall Can Cause Huge Earthquakes

There is a strong correlation between heavy rainfall and earthquakes. Shimon Wdowinski, a researcher, has been researching the Taiwan's earthquake and rainfall amounts dating back fifty years ago. A study that he found was that a 1999 earthquake occurred three years after a storm soaked up the earth. The general idea that Shimon states is that erosion from heavy rains and flooding creates the recipe for earthquakes. With climate change bringing in extreme weather, it creates the possibility of more earthquakes.
