Chimps are now showing similar associations with tones and shades of colors that are helping scientists look at the human conditions of synesthesia as well as language. The findings say that chimps actually can experience synesthesia just like humans. Synesthesia is a condition where the senses are mixed together and people can see tones or smell colors. It’s caused by neural crossings in the brain. The video also shows really interesting clips of chimps exhibiting synesthesia.
