Anti-Stress Peptide May Block Alcohol Dependence

Research at The Scripps Research Institute has found that an anti-stress peptide in the brain can prevent or even reverse some of the cellular effects of alcohol dependence in animal models. The study researched the interaction between a stress peptide that promotes drinking and an anti-stress peptide. This research could open the door to new drug treatments of alcoholism using this peptide.
