American Apparel Snubs Plus-Size Model Contest Top Vote-Getter
Nancy Upton entered American Apparel's “Next BIG Thing” search. It was based on a popular vote by the public. To her surprise, she received the most amount of votes and should have won the contest. However, the company sent her a letter explaining to her why they could not allow her to win. Apparently the photos of herself were deemed too inappropriate by the company. The pictures were taken in a high-fashion point of view. In her pictures, she was making fun of her weight by eating a lot of unhealthy food. But should the company take away her prize and title? You can see the rest of her pictures on the website.
