Really? Coffee Can Prevent Some Medications From Working

The claim being assessed in this article is the effect of coffee on medication and if it really inhibits medications effects on humans. They say that there may be as many as a dozen medications that have already been shown to be affected by caffeine such as antidepressants, estrogen, and thyroid plus osteoporosis drugs. It is shown to decrease the ability of the body to absorb the drugs, thereby decreasing the drugs effectiveness. They are even saying that some medications elongate the effects of caffeine and keep it in your system longer. The jury is still out on the overall effect of caffeine, because it effects each drug differently within your system, but further research is being done.
