Easy to Beat: Next-Gen Cardiac Care Includes Wireless Pacemakers

This article is on the new technology being created to allow for a wireless pacemaker that can be installed in a persons heart and grounded to a Wireless Cardiac Simulation (WiCS) system implanted below the chest. The benefits of a wireless pacemaker is many fold. It doesn't have the wire leads that lead to easier infection after implantation, as well as makes it easier to surgically implant the electrodes without wires all over the surgical table. The way it works is that the electrode senses the pacemakers pulse, which sends a signal to the left side and causes an electrical pulse to emanate and sync the left ventricle with the right ventricle. They hope to make this technology available for popular usage soon, and mamy companies are currently looking into wireless pacemaker technology, including Medtronic.
