Scientists have found rice microRNA inside human cells. The implications of this are great. The idea is that plant and animal microRNA can enter our genetic makeup and prevent specific genes from producing certain proteins that they encode. Also it appears that they can also alter cell function in that they can inhibit activity in certain receptors.
