Molecules to Medicine: Should pepper spray be put on (clinical) trial?

This article discusses the implications on if pepper spray is dangerous enough to be put on clinical trials in order to figure out and regulate how dangerous it could be for a person’s respiratory system. The early tests they’ve done on capsaicin shows that if it’s done from the recommended 5 feet away, that it shows no real damage to a person, however, that’s commonly untrue that it’s done from 5 feet away. They are also looking at treatments that can be topically applied for the treatment of pepper spray, and how effective those are.
