Tanning beds could provide a greater risk than originally thought: new study

A new study was conducted on 12 volunteers. The buttocks’ of the volunteers were exposed to both UVA1 and UVB rays to the point of sunburn. The results contradicted the previously accepted idea that UVA rays, which penetrate the deeper layers of the skin, do not cause wrinkles or skin cancer. The tanning bed industry is not happy and the study’s release is at the same time the FDA is considering a ban on tanning beds for children and teens under the age of 18.
