The Kangaroo Genome

Kangaroos are very interesting animals, as this article states, mostly in part because of the interesting way they move from place to place.  Hopping around the way they do, is a very unlike way to move.  Until recently kangaroos had never had their DNA sequenced.  In doing this we hope to find out which gene is responsible for them being able to hope around in the way that they do.
