New molecular target for diabetes treatment discovered at Stanford

Stanford has potentially discovered a brand new way to treat diabetes.  They believe they have discovered a molecular cause for a (non-diabetic) person's natural decline of insulin producing cells as they age.  They believe they can use this structure in a beneficial way, manipulating it to create a new, more natural way to fight diabetes, a disease that's primary issue is a lack of insulin. Hopefully, one day diabetics will not need constant monitoring and injections.
