HPV Vaccine
This article is based on the pediatricians in Appalachia, and how they are less likely to recommend the HPV vaccination to their patients. They go on to discuss the effectiveness of the shot, it's benefits, when it should be given to girls, and if boys should receive it as well, and so on. The article also manages to tie in the recent political dispute between Michele Bachmann and Gov. Rick Perry and the end. The important point of this article is a statement made by Dr. Elise Berlan, whom recommends this vaccine to all of her patients (male and female) starting at age 11, she claims the shot is beneficial and effective and the benefits outweigh any possible risks of getting the vaccine. So there is a possibility of negative effects, but through the eyes of a Doctor...this shot can prevent so much more and that makes it worth it.
