Court Rules Against Stem Cell Patents


In the ongoing debate about the ethics of stem cell research, the BBC reports that the European Court of Justice has just weighed in. It ruled that scientists could not file for patents on stem cell technology, making it illegal to make a profit on discoveries that harvest stem cells from embryos.
