U.S. Stillbirths Still Prevalent

empty maternity room       Stillbirths, when a fetus dies after 20 weeks of gestation or more, are still very prevalent in the United States, in fact 1 in every 160 pregnancies experience a stillbirth each year. New research is being done to look for causes, and possible solutions. Not much research has been done in the past due to the emotional difficulty. Some possible risks of stillbirths are smoking, drugs, obesity, being 40 or older, and being unmarried. The good news is, all of these things are able to be modified in order to reduce this high rate, compared to other developed countries.
