Paleontologists in Australia have found the fossilized eyes of a giant squid from 500 million years ago, and its eyes have 16,000 hexagonal lenses each. The squid would have had extraordinarily clear vision, vision only exceed modernly by the dragonfly-which has had up to 28,000 lenses in its eyes/
