Scientists May Be Able to Double Efficacy of Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy works by causing double stranded breaks in DNA. Cells, including cancer cells have mechanisms to prevent that breakage. Scientists at Georgia Health Sciences University have created a way to reduce lung cancer cells' ability to repair the double-stranded DNA break by putting a piece of an antibody against one of them with folate.
