The Costa Rican birds play a crucial role in the country's ecology by spreading seeds, keeping insects in check and pollinating plants. However, their existence is threatened by the destruction of their habitat for agricultural purposes. It is essential that everyone does their part in keeping the environment healthy as nature reserves cannot provide all the benefits that a proper ecosystem would.
