A new study shows that the climate change between now and 2100 will be 100 times more rapid than the rate at which species are able to adapt. The research focuses on North American rattlesnakes and states this rate of change is unlike anything these species have experienced since their formation. Increases of temperature can make sweeping changes in the species' habitat displacing them from their natural boundaries and forcing them into new environments. Rattlesnakes are a good indicator of climate change because they depend on the environment to regulate their body temperature.
