A new study shows that while paper wasps have brains less than a millionth the size of humans', they have face-learning capabilities just as specialized as the system humans use. The paper wasps recognize each other by variations in their facial colorings and they are more prone to attack wasps with unknown faces. A previous study showed that these wasps have an extensive memory and base their behavior off of previous social encounters.
